Robust Active Vision from Simple Symbiotic Subsystems

چکیده
We present an active vision head-eye system that mimics the low-level visual reflexes of an infant. The software architecture is fast and robust, consisting of very simple modules that interact to correct each other’s errors. The system produces stable output and is designed to be the base framework of a more complete visual system. It tracks objects at 30 Hz with smooth motion, running on a single DSP chip, and decides on its own when and where to saccade to

An Intelligent Vision System on a Mobile Manipulator
This article will introduce a robust vision system which was implemented on a mobile manipulator. This robot has to find objects and deliver them to pre specified locations. In the first stage, a method which is named color adjacency method was employed. However, this method needs a large amount of memory and the process is very slow on computers with small memories. Therefore since the previou...
متن کاملA Low-Level Active Vision Framework for Collaborative Unmanned Aircraft Systems
Micro unmanned aerial vehicles are becoming increasingly interesting for aiding and collaborating with human agents in myriads of applications, but in particular they are useful for monitoring inaccessible or dangerous areas. In order to interact with and monitor humans, these systems need robust and real-time computer vision subsystems that allow to detect and follow persons. In this work, we ...
متن کاملExpanding Panjabi's stability model to express movement: a theoretical model.
Novel theoretical models of movement have historically inspired the creation of new methods for the application of human movement. The landmark theoretical model of spinal stability by Panjabi in 1992 led to the creation of an exercise approach to spinal stability. This approach however was later challenged, most significantly due to a lack of favourable clinical effect. The concepts explored i...
متن کاملThe Bridge Project
The Problem: We need better perception systems, both to support applications and to support research on intelligence. We believe that each subsystem of a better perception system will rely on contextual information from other perception subsystems and on knowledge of the evolving situation in the external world. Accordingly, we are building a system, the Bridge System in which simple machine vi...
متن کاملPredictive Gaze Control
Animate vision systems, biological or robotic, employ gaze control systems to acquire, fixate, and stabilize images. Our goal is to guild robust gaze control behaviour from cooperating lower-level visual reflexes. Predictive control strategies can cope with time delayed, multi-rate, and interacting controls. Solutions are explored through simulation incorporating ten primitive gaze control capa...
